The infrastructure for electric vehicles is already emerging in Ukraine, but there are still nuances that are better known in advance. In this article, we’ll find out which charging stations are suitable for the Audi E-Tron, how long it will take to charge, what you need to have with you, and how to avoid unpleasant surprises on the road.

We remind you that you can purchase home and commercial

What connectors and charging options does the Audi E-Tron support?

All Audi E-Tron models are equipped with the CCS (Combined Charging System) connector. This means that both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging is possible via one port. The connector is located on the front left, just behind the front wheel.

A standard Type 2 connector is connected to the upper part of the socket for slow or medium AC charging, which is usually used at home or at public charging points. If you need speed, then connect the lower part of the CCS connector for high-speed DC charging.

That is, you should choose the charging method based on the time you have and the circumstances – you can take your time at home, and use fast charging on the road.

Charging the Audi E-Tron at home

If you have a private house or access to a garage with electricity, charging at home is convenient and profitable. The E-Tron can be charged via a regular 220V household outlet (but this is very slow) or you can install a home charging station (e.g. Wallbox) that will provide 11-22 kW.

A simple socket delivers only 2-3 kW, so it can take more than a day to fully charge a large battery. With a home station, this will be reduced to 8-12 hours, depending on the power.

For safety reasons, a separate line with automatic protection is recommended – do not plug the charger into the same socket as a boiler or kettle.

Charging the Audi E-Tron at free public charging points

There are more and more free charging stations in Ukraine, usually AC stations in car parks near shopping centres, supermarkets or offices. For example, near Silpo, ATB, or Epicentre, you can already see stations where you can plug in your cable and charge your car while you shop.

Ці charges не дуже швидкі – зазвичай up to 11 kW, але якщо ви не поспішаєте, цілком you can підзарядити 10-20% батареї, що вистачить for кількох десятків кілометрів. Важливо мати власний cable (Type 2), бо не всі stations його надають.

Charging the Audi E-Tron at commercial fast charging stations

Якщо треба зарядити авто швидко – наприклад, у дорозі – тоді варто користуватись комерційними DC-станціями. Такі networks, як ECOFACTOR, TOKA, Ionity, AutoEnterprise or GO TO-U, пропонують потужні charges 50, 100 or навіть 160+ кВт.

The E-Tron can be charged to 80% in 30 to 40 minutes. In large cities and on major motorways, these charging points are becoming increasingly available. Payment is usually made via an app, QR code or RFID card – cash is not an option.

Some apps (e.g. GO TO-U, PlugShare, Chargemap) will help you find the nearest station, check its status and book a time.

How long does it take to charge the Audi E-Tron?

This depends on the model, battery type and charger. Below are approximate figures for versions with a 95 kWh battery:

  • Standard socket (2.3 kW)up to 42 hours
  • Home station (11 kW): approx. 9 hours to 100%
  • Fast AC charging (22 kW): approximately 5-6 hours
  • DC station 50-150 kW: 30-45 minutes to 80%

In reality, they often charge from, say, 20 to 80% rather than from 0 to 100, so the time can be much shorter.

How long does it take to charge the Audi E-Tron at home?

If you charge the Audi E-Tron from a conventional 220 V outlet, the process can take 26 to 42 hours. This is due to the low power of this method – on average, you will get 8-10 km of range for each hour of charging. This option is only suitable if the car is parked at your home overnight or even for a couple of days.

However, most drivers do not discharge the battery “to zero”, so in reality it is more often a matter of recharging from 20% to 80%, and here the figures look different – about 16-30 hours. But if you want it faster, you can’t do without a wall station.

How long does it take to fast charge the Audi E-Tron?

Fast AC charging (e.g. from an 11 kW home Wallbox) allows the E-Tron to be charged to 80% in 8-10 hours. This is already quite feasible overnight if you have a private house or car park with an installed charging module. If you charge at a public 22 kW AC station (there are more and more of them in cities), it will take approximately 5-6 hours to charge the 80%.

How long does it take to charge the Audi E-Tron with a fast DC charge?

At powerful DC stations (50 kW or more), things are much faster. Up to 80% can be charged in 30-40 minutes, and a full charge usually takes just under an hour. Ideal for trails or longer distances when time is of the essence.

How much does it cost to charge an Audi E-Tron?

The price of charging an E-Tron in Ukraine depends on several things: where you charge, how much power you use, and, of course, what your electricity tariff is. There is no definitive answer here, but you can focus on average figures.

How much does it cost to charge the E-Tron at home?

If you charge at home, this is the most affordable option. According to the current tariffs for household consumers, up to 250 kWh per month costs UAH 2.64 per kWh. That is, it will take approximately 95 kWh to fully charge the E-Tron battery:

95 × 2.64 = 250 UAH (full charge from zero to 100%)

If you use a nightly tariff or a two-zone meter, the amount can be almost halved – to UAH 125-150.

Installing a home Wallbox (charging station) is an additional expense. The device itself costs an average of 15-30 thousand hryvnias, plus installation. However, if you plan to charge regularly, the investment will quickly pay off through savings and convenience. Currently, there are no subsidies in Ukraine like in Europe, but sometimes contractors offer discounts on installation.

How much does it cost to charge at high-speed stations?

Here, the variation is much greater. For example:

  • At TOKA stations, DC charging costs about UAH 10-13 per kWh
  • ECOFACTOR can even offer 15 UAH per kWh at the most powerful stations
  • GO TO-U, Ionity, UkrAVTO and others have different tariffs, often with bonuses for regular users

If you charge the 80% from 95 kWh, it will cost about 76 kWh × 12 UAH ≈ 900 UAH. During peak hours, it may be more expensive.

Some apps allow you to book a charge, choose a price point, or even get a discount if you use it regularly. But in general, charging at a fast-charging station is the most expensive option, albeit the fastest.

Conclusion

The Audi E-Tron fits perfectly into the realities of the Ukrainian electric vehicle market – in terms of dynamics, comfort, and charging capabilities. But for an electric car to really work for you, and not vice versa, you need to understand the details a little. Charging at home is profitable, but slow. At public charging points, it’s convenient, but not always fast. And high-speed stations are about time, but also about costs. Ideally, you should have all options in mind and choose depending on the route, situation, or schedule.
