This is especially true of Chinese brands, which have become a great alternative for those who want to switch to electric mobility without spending large sums of money. Chinese manufacturers are actively conquering the Ukrainian market with their affordable yet high-quality models.     1. Wuling Hongguang Mini EV

    The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is an urban electric vehicle produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling since 2020. It has become one of the most affordable options on the electric car market, providing basic features for comfortable movement in urban environments. The model is available in several configurations, including three main battery versions with different capacities, which provide a range of 120 to 280 km. Also known in the Chinese market as Heimao or black cat, the Ora R1 offers efficiency and affordability in one compact package.

    The electric vehicle is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 35 to 45 kW (48-61 horsepower) and has front-wheel drive. Depending on the model, it is equipped with a lithium-ion or lithium-iron-phosphate battery of various capacities. The maximum range on a single charge can reach up to 405 km on the NEFZ cycle, making it the best choice for everyday driving. Thanks to its fixed gearbox and compact body, the car can reach a top speed of 102 km/h.

    The cabin features basic comfort and convenience features, as well as a multimedia system that includes a display for monitoring the main functions of the vehicle. Despite its simplicity, the Ora R1 offers balanced specifications to meet the needs of city drivers.

    The Geometry C has a top speed of 150 km/h, making it suitable for daily commuting in the city and on the highway. The electric vehicle is equipped with front-wheel drive technology and a permanently synchronous motor with one fixed gear ratio. Thanks to its good technical characteristics, the Geometry C has already gained popularity in international markets, including Israel, where it became the best-selling vehicle in August 2022.

    In 2022, an updated version of the Geometry M6 was introduced, featuring an updated design and Huawei's Harmony OS operating system, expanding the Geometry range and enhancing the technological capabilities of the electric vehicle.

Its dimensions include a length of 4385 mm, a width of 1850 mm, a height of 1650 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm.

    The interior of the Series 3 offers a modern interior with five-seat seating, ergonomically profiled front seats and a rear sofa that provides passenger comfort. The luggage compartment has a standard capacity of 318 litres, but this volume increases to 1,200 litres when the rear seats are folded. The centre console is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia system, making it easy to operate and accessible.

    Under the bonnet of the Series 3 is a 163 horsepower (120 kW) permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. This motor is powered by a 52.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of up to 405 km on a single charge. The car is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h.

Thanks to a powerful 43-48 kWh battery, the car can cover distances of up to 305 km in a mixed cycle and up to 360 km at a steady speed of 60 km/h. The electric motor drives the front wheels, and the battery is located under the bottom, which contributes to the increase in luggage space.

    The interior of the BYD Qin EV300 is designed with high-quality materials: the cabin has leather upholstery on the doors and front panel, and the driver's seat is equipped with a knee airbag. The car has such modern options as keyless entry, climate control, a Bluetooth-enabled multimedia system and a voice assistant, which makes driving more convenient.

    In Russia, the BYD Qin EV300 can be purchased through authorised dealers or online platforms. Prices for the car vary depending on the configuration, starting at around RUB 2.7 million. In particular, the autopilot allows the driver to take his hands off the wheel in certain situations, such as traffic jams, which significantly increases comfort in urban environments.

    The electric vehicle is available in two versions of the range - 460 km and 520 km, which is provided by batteries with a capacity of 55.9 and 66.7 kWh, respectively. The XPeng G3i is also equipped with a voice assistant that can recognise and maintain a dialogue in normal speech, making interaction with the car even more convenient. The model is designed for everyday city driving and offers a comfortable, spacious cabin with five seats.

    The interior of the XPeng G3i is characterised by well-thought-out ergonomics and functional design. The centre console is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen for controlling the multimedia system, and the boot capacity is 380 litres in the basic form and can be increased to 760 litres by folding the rear seats.

    14. JAC iEVS4

    The JAC iEVS4 is a front-wheel-drive K1 electric crossover that made its debut at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. The design of the electric version is distinguished by the absence of a traditional grille, which is replaced by a plastic cap with a hinged cover for the charging port. This compact SUV has a modern interior with a digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia system and electronic gearshift joystick.

    The JAC iEVS4 is powered by a 150 hp electric motor with 330 Nm of torque. The lithium battery is located under the floor, which ensures a low centre of gravity and a spacious interior. The car is available with three battery options with a capacity of 55, 61 and 66 kWh, which provides a range of 355 to 470 km on the NEDC cycle. The 30% to 80% can be recharged in 30 minutes using a fast charging station.

    The interior of the JAC iEVS4 features comfortable electrically operated and heated seats, dual-zone climate control and a sliding sunroof. Technology includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and six airbags.

    15. BYD Dolphin

    The BYD Dolphin is an all-electric compact hatchback launched by Chinese manufacturer BYD Auto in 2021. This car is the first BYD model to be developed on the basis of the e-Platform 3.0 platform, which allows for optimal weight distribution for better performance and increased range. During the Auto Shanghai exhibition in April 2021, a concept version of the BYD EA1 was presented, which was subsequently launched under the name Dolphin, retaining its stylish and modern design.

    The European version of the BYD Dolphin has received several modifications compared to the Chinese version: increased length and new bumpers suitable for C-segment cars. In addition, the car is equipped with a 150 kW front-wheel drive electric motor and a 60 kWh battery, which provides a good range and convenience for city driving.

    In different markets, BYD Dolphin is sold with different features and modifications. For example, in Australia, the model was introduced in 2022 at an average price of AU$35,000-40,000, with a focus on car sharing. In China, the car is available in two lengths, and the luggage compartment increases to 1310 litres with the rear seats folded down.
