The YangWang U8L, on the other hand, looks like a real giant. At 5.4 metres long and more than 2 metres wide, it is closer to the dimensions of a Range Rover LWB or Cadillac Escalade. The wheelbase of 3.25 metres provides space even for the third row of seats. It's hard to imagine it in tight car parks, but for highway or country trips, this format is a pure pleasure.

Inside the Model Y, everything is built around a single 15-inch screen that replaces the dashboard, climate control and even buttons. With five seats, a huge boot (854 litres in the rear and 117 litres in the front), a smart heat pump heating system and high-quality acoustics, most drivers will find this to be more than enough.

YangWang U8L: business class comfort

Everything is different here. Inside, there are three screens in the front, another for the rear passengers, wooden inlays, premium leather and even decorative elements made of 24-carat gold. This is not a joke or a marketing gimmick: there is a real demand for luxury parts with real gold in China.

The 2+2+2 seating formula makes the cabin look like a private jet. The seats in both rows have heating, ventilation, massage and even heated armrests. The second-row passengers have a separate monitor for climate, multimedia and seat position control.

Power and technology

Tesla Model Y: classic electrics

Tesla is pure electricity without compromise. The 60 kWh battery provides a realistic range of around 375 km. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds and the top speed is 201 km/h.

It uses LFP batteries from CATL, which are known for their durability and stability even at low temperatures. Charging is possible from a standard wall outlet, a home wallbox or a fast DC station with a capacity of up to 175 kW, where the 10-80% can be charged in approximately 24 minutes.

Tesla is all about the technology inside: autopilot, over-the-air updates, a mobile app, and constant software development. But there is no "excess power" in it - it is about efficiency, not luxury.

YangWang U8L: power without compromise

The U8L uses a plug-in hybrid system: under the bonnet, there is a 2-litre turbo engine that recharges the battery and four electric motors - one for each wheel. Together, they produce 1180 hp and 1280 Nm of torque.

These are crazy numbers even in the world of supercars. Acceleration to 100 km/h is 3.6 seconds, which is faster than Tesla Model Y and even some Porsches. The total range in combined mode is up to 1000 km.

But the most important thing is the unique capabilities of the control system: The U8L can turn its rear wheels, move sideways or even rotate in place. And the most interesting thing is that it can swim, using electric motors to move in the water.

Off-road capabilities

Ukrainian roads, especially outside of large cities, clearly show that "off-road" is not just the Carpathians or a field.

The Tesla Model Y has a medium ground clearance and is not designed for difficult conditions. Yes, it can drive on dirt or snowy roads, but this is not its element. It should be protected from high curbs, sharp stones and water.

The YangWang U8L, on the other hand, is designed for just such conditions. Its Disus-P air suspension allows you to adjust the ground clearance from 180 to 230 mm. Thanks to the independent control of all wheels, the car can literally "crawl" on stones. And in the mode of overcoming water obstacles, the electronics seal the body and allow you to move on the surface of the water - up to 30 minutes.
