The Xiaomi YU7 is a large five-seater SUV with smooth body lines and sporty proportions. Its length is 4999 mm, width is 1996 mm, height is 1608 mm, and the wheelbase is 3000 mm. This size allows for comfortable seating for five passengers and a spacious luggage compartment.

Even the base version has dynamics that easily surpass most petrol crossovers. At the same time, the car maintains a smooth ride thanks to the adaptive air suspension and Xiaomi Smart Chassis control system.

Battery and range

The YU7 is equipped with a 96.3 kWh Li-ion LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery as standard. This technology is known for its stability and durability. The range is up to 835 km on the CLTC cycle.

The Pro version is powered by a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, while the Max version is powered by a 101.7 kWh NMC battery. The Pro version has a range of 770 km, while the Max version has a range of 760 km.

The YU7 operates on a high-voltage 800V architecture, which allows it to charge a car much faster than most competitors. In everyday use, this means that the driver can get a charge sufficient for several hundred kilometres in 15-20 minutes.

Charging: speed and convenience

The electric vehicle supports charging via Type 2 (AC) and CCS (DC) connectors. At a fast-charging station (DC), you can charge the battery from 30 to 80% in 21 minutes for Standard/Pro, 12 minutes for Max.

Thanks to the energy recovery system, the YU7 recharges itself when braking or descending, adding several kilometres to the range. There's also a heat pump that optimises the heating and cooling system, reducing energy losses in winter.

Xiaomi says that the YU7 has been tested for compatibility with more than 99% charging stations in China. The company plans to expand its fast charging network to other markets in the future.

Interior and comfort

Spacious interior

The YU7 cabin is designed to ensure the comfort of all passengers. OEKO-TEX® Class 1 certified materials are used, which are safe even for children's skin. All surfaces are pleasant to the touch, and the seats are upholstered in soft Nappa leather.

Technology and convenience

The front seats are ventilated, heated and have a massage function. The rear seats can be adjusted up to 135° and are also heated and have footrests.

There are five large screens in the cabin: a 16.1-inch central screen, a 7.1-inch digital driver's panel, a projection display, and two removable screens for rear passengers.

The premium audio system with speakers supports Dolby Atmos. There's even a small 4.6-litre fridge that can chill or heat drinks.

Noise insulation and climate control

All windows and the roof of the YU7 are equipped with double laminated glass, which effectively blocks noise and UV light. The body has more than 200 noise-absorbing elements, so even on the road, the interior is quiet.

The climate system is three-zone, with a smooth air supply without direct flow. It is equipped with a large HEPA filter that purifies the air in the cabin in 35 seconds.

For sunny days, there is a glass panoramic roof with SPF 100 protection and smart dimming in the Max version.

YU7 integrates into the Human x Car x Home ecosystem. This means that the car can synchronise with your Xiaomi smart devices - phones, watches, smart home systems.

Apple users have not been left out either: CarPlay, Apple Music and even the iPhone car-opening function are supported.

The system has its own Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAI assistant - it responds to voice commands from anywhere in the cabin, recognises gestures, opens the trunk or changes the music.

Cost in China

Xiaomi is positioning the YU7 as a premium electric SUV with a more affordable price than many competitors. In the Chinese market, the base version of the Xiaomi YU7 Standard starts at 253,500 yuan, which is approximately 31,800 euros. The Pro version, with all-wheel drive and an expanded set of features, costs about 279,900 yuan (approximately 35,000 euros), and the flagship YU7 Max costs 329,900 yuan (approximately 41,000 euros).

For comparison, this is significantly lower than many SUVs from European and American brands. At the same time, for his money, the buyer gets an electric car with a power of up to 690 horsepower, a range of up to 835 km and a level of equipment comparable to a car worth more than 60 thousand euros.

Plans to enter the international market

So far, Xiaomi YU7 is officially available only in China, but the company has already announced its intention to expand sales in Europe. The first deliveries to foreign markets are expected to start in late 2025 or early 2026.
