Choosing an electric car in Ukraine has long ceased to be a matter for a few. In cities, charging stations are almost everywhere, highways have also improved their infrastructure, and the market offers dozens of models. As a result, sometimes you have to spend time not finding a car that meets your needs, but understanding how some cars differ from others.
Today we are going to compare two cars that, at first glance, seem to be in completely different worlds. The first is the Wuling Bingo Plus, a compact electric crossover with an attractive price and a simple character. The second is the Tesla Model Y Standard RWD, which Ukrainians know well even before it officially entered our market. These cars have different price categories, different sizes, and even different ideas about what an electric car should look like. But both models are interesting, and each of them can fit different life scenarios.
In this article, we look at how these cars behave on the road, what capabilities they have, how long they can go on a single charge, how quickly they charge, and what they offer their owners in everyday use.

We remind you that you can purchase home and commercial charging stations in our online storeand also use the public charging stations ECOFACTORcharging points located throughout Ukraine. For convenient access to charging infrastructure, we recommend using our mobile applicationwhich is available on iOS and Android.
Wuling Bingo Plus and Tesla Model Y: a brief overview of positioning
Before comparing specific figures, it is worth understanding who these models are designed for.
Wuling Bingo Plus
The Bingo Plus was launched in 2024 and immediately attracted attention due to its price, economy and simplicity. This is not a car designed for the Kyiv-Odesa or Lviv-Uzhhorod highways at high speeds. Its element is the city, the suburbs and things that don't require a lot of money. Positioning features:
- maximum practicality at minimum cost
- comfortable fit and good use of interior space
- consumption of about 10.8 kWh per 100 km
- range up to 510 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle
- lightweight body (~1250 kg) for mobility in the city
Tesla Model Y
The Tesla Model Y Standard RWD is a full-size crossover with a large trunk, modern safety systems, fast charging and predictable behaviour on the road. The car is suitable for families, drivers who often travel between cities, and those who want something more powerful. Positioning features:
- significantly larger body, more space
- real range of about 380 km
- a full-fledged family car
- high fast charging capabilities (up to 175 kW)
- suitable for long journeys
Dimensions and practicality: how big are these machines?
This is one of the most obvious differences that will directly affect the choice.
Wuling Bingo Plus dimensions
- length: 4090 mm
- width: 1720 mm wide
- height: 1575 mm
- wheelbase: 2610 mm
The car is at the level of compact city crossovers. Comparing it to the Model Y is as difficult as comparing the Xiaomi 13 to the iPhone Pro Max. Each has its own task.
The Wuling feels good in narrow alleys, tight car parks in old residential areas and in tight courtyards. In addition, its weight of around 1,250 kg makes it feel light to drive.
Dimensions of the Tesla Model Y
- length: 4797 mm
- width: 1982 mm
- height: 1621 mm
- wheelbase: 2890 mm
This is a large car. It is comfortable for four adults, and the fifth will also be comfortable. With a boot capacity of 835 litres and up to 2118 litres with the seats folded down, it's the same as a small van.
The Model Y is sometimes harder to park, but inside it feels almost like a minivan.

For whom each of the models is more practical
If manoeuvrability is your main concern, the Wuling Bingo Plus is a clear favourite. In the city, with its tight streets, courtyards and chaotic parking, this car feels right at home. It's shorter, narrower and lighter, so it's easier to park close to the curb, turn around in a narrow alleyway or fit into a supermarket car park. In the daily rhythm of the city, this really reduces stress.
If capacity is important to you, then the Tesla Model Y is a few heads ahead. This is a full-fledged crossover with a large interior, a spacious boot and an additional niche in the front. It can easily fit a stroller, several bags and even a folding bicycle. It's also comfortable for a family trip out of town - there's enough space for both things and passengers. If you often transport something bulky or simply like to have extra space for all occasions, Model Y will provide you with this flexibility.
Interior: comfort, space and technology
Wuling Bingo Plus
The car has a good set for its class:
- 10.1-inch centre screen
- 8.8-inch instrument cluster
- 23 niches and storage pockets
- space in the back is sufficient for two adults
- up to 1450 litres of luggage space with the seats folded down
The materials are simple but not cheap looking. The upper trims get an electric driver's seat and nicer decorative elements. The overall atmosphere is similar to modern Chinese electric cars: minimalism, smooth lines, light colours.
The suspension is soft, which is a plus for our roads.
Tesla Model Y
The Tesla showroom needs no introduction. Minimalism in its purest form:
- huge 15-inch screen
- almost complete absence of physical buttons
- panoramic roof in most configurations
- plenty of space in all directions
The quality of the materials depends on the year of manufacture and the specific assembly, but in general, everything is on par. The seats are comfortable, the side support is moderate, and visibility is good.
Interior comparison
The Tesla Model Y has more space, and this is felt not only in the legs or overhead, but also in the overall feeling of "air" in the cabin. Everything here is as laconic as possible: almost all functions are controlled through one large central screen. There are no buttons, everything is subordinated to the idea of minimalism, which looks modern and stylish for some, but for others it may not seem very convenient.
Wuling Bingo Plus, on the other hand, stays closer to the classic approach. It has both a touchscreen and physical buttons, which makes it easier to use on the go. There is less space in the cabin, but it is quite enough within its class. Especially if you take into account that the car is not designed for long journeys, but for daily city trips. And in this scenario, the Wuling's interior looks quite thoughtful and practical.
Engine and performance: how different are they?
The power of Wuling Bingo Plus
- 75 kW (102 hp)
- 180 Nm
- 0 - 50 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds
- maximum speed - 140 km/h
The car is lively enough for the city. On the highway, it goes up to 110 km/h without any problems, but for overtaking, you want a little more power. It's not a sports car, but it does its job perfectly.
Power of the Tesla Model Y RWD
- 200 kW (272 hp)
- 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.2 seconds
- top speed - 201 km/h
The Model Y is significantly more dynamic. Even the base rear-wheel drive version feels faster and more confident in any mode. There are no problems with overtaking on the road.
Cruising range and consumption: how much do they really drive
When it comes to the range without recharging, everything depends not only on the size of the battery, but also on the weight of the car, aerodynamics, climate and driving style. Both models have their own characteristics, and it's important not just to look at the declared figures, but to understand what you can really expect in Ukrainian conditions.
Wuling Bingo Plus
The manufacturer claims that the junior version with a 37.9 kWh battery has a range of 401 km, and the older version with 50.6 kWh can cover up to 510 km. But these figures are based on the Chinese CLTC cycle, which is quite far from reality. In real conditions, with the heating or air conditioning on, in mixed traffic, the figures are more modest:
- small battery: 260-300 km in the city
- large battery: 340-380 km
These results look decent for a lightweight car. The Bingo Plus is well optimised for city driving, doesn't spend too much on acceleration and, thanks to its simple design, rarely "eats" electricity for background systems. If you do not drive, you can get really nice savings. This is especially noticeable in the city or when travelling within a radius of 100 km.
Tesla Model Y RWD
The Model Y delivers consistent performance regardless of the season, especially when you use the navigation to preheat the battery before fast charging.
- real range 380 km
- in the city in warm weather up to 555 km
- in cold weather up to 315 km
Firstly, Tesla Model Y has a large battery with a useful capacity of 60 kWh, which in itself provides a good range. Secondly, the car has well-thought-out body aerodynamics, which reduces air resistance on the road and allows you to spend less energy even at high speed. It is also worth mentioning the battery preheating system before charging, which is especially useful in the cold season. And another plus is the stable and moderate energy consumption on the road, which averages around 158 W/km. All of this combines to deliver a result that drivers can rely on.

Charging speed: who refuels faster with electricity
This is one of the key topics for Ukrainian realities, as drivers often combine AC charging in the city with DC stations along the highways.
Wuling Bingo Plus charging speed
- DC 30 80% in 30 35 minutes (top versions)
- AC 6 7 hours
These are absolutely acceptable figures for a city electric car. If you charge at home at night, you won't even feel these hours. But if you need to quickly "top up" the energy supply on the road, Bingo loses a little, because the charging power is limited, and not every DC station will be able to squeeze the maximum out of it.
Tesla Model Y charging speed
- DC up to 175 kW
- 10 80% in 24 minutes
- AC 11 kW
In real life, this means one thing: Tesla charges faster, almost always and almost everywhere. Even if you arrive at a station where there is a queue, you'll be able to charge before some other cars start. In addition, Tesla works better with smart chargers, automatically preheating the battery to achieve maximum power on DC.
As a result, if it is important for you to be able to quickly charge your car on the highway, stop for coffee and move on immediately, Tesla is definitely ahead. If you mostly charge at home and rarely use DC charging, the Bingo Plus will fully meet your needs.

Charging infrastructure for Wuling and Tesla: ECOFACTOR
At ECOFACTOR, we work every day to make it easier for electric car drivers in Ukraine to charge their cars - whether they drive a Tesla Model Y or the compact Wuling Bingo Plus. Our charging stations AC and DC (from mobile up to a powerful 420 kW) are suitable for both daily urban use and highways where fast charging is required.
Through our app, available on iOS and Android, you can see map of charging stations across the country, plan a route, and even start charging right from your smartphone. We understand that charging an electric car should be as easy as pulling into a petrol station. That's why we are constantly updating the platform, simplifying billing and enabling station owners to easily manage their stations. This is important for drivers of all models - regardless of whether it is a budget electric crossover or a premium SUV.
In addition to the charging infrastructure, we also have online shopwhere you can buy cables, adapters and charging accessories. This is especially useful if you have several cars with different connectors or charge your car at different types of stations.
We try to relate everything we do to the real-life experience of drivers, so that everyone who switches to an electric car can easily integrate it into their daily lives.
Safety and body construction
The Wuling Bingo Plus has a quite adequate level of safety for a budget electric car. Almost 75% of high-strength steel is used in its construction, which provides a basic framework for collision protection. There are four airbags in the cabin, and the electronic systems include ESC (electronic stabilisation), ABS, hill hold, and the Autohold system, which helps to avoid rolling the car during stops. For its class, this is a solid set, especially given the model's affordable price.
Tesla Model Y, in turn, is focused on a much higher safety standard. The car has a stronger and more rigid body structure, designed to protect the battery and passengers in any accident scenario. In addition, Tesla is equipped with advanced active safety systems, including automatic emergency braking, collision warning, blind spot monitoring and other ADAS functions. Thanks to additional cameras, radars, and sensors, the car has a better view of the situation around it and responds to threats before the driver has time to react.
So, while the Wuling has a sufficient level of protection for everyday driving, Tesla offers a much wider range of active and passive safety features that are especially important on the highway or in more difficult road conditions.
How they drive in Ukraine: comfort and behaviour on the road
Wuling Bingo Plus
Wuling Bingo Plus feels at ease in the city. Its compact dimensions make it easy to manoeuvre in tight yards, find a parking space quickly and move effortlessly in heavy traffic. The suspension is softly tuned, which compensates well for our realities with eternal potholes and patches on the roads. In addition, thanks to its light weight, the car consumes energy efficiently, which makes it convenient for daily city driving.
But on the track, it feels like it's not its element. At speeds above 120 km/h, the handling becomes less precise, and the power reserve no longer allows you to overtake confidently. The car doesn't lose control, but its behaviour becomes less predictable, so you shouldn't overestimate its capabilities outside the city limits.
Tesla Model Y
Tesla Model Y is confident in both city and highway driving. Thanks to its wide wheelbase and higher weight, the car holds the road well even at high speeds. The suspension is of medium stiffness: it is not too soft to float on bumps, but not too firm to transmit every little thing to the cabin. This gives a good balance between comfort and stability.
Importantly, Tesla always has enough power. It easily picks up speed, keeps up with the rhythm of traffic on any part of the road, and allows you to manoeuvre confidently even in difficult conditions. That's why for long journeys, especially with passengers or luggage, Tesla looks like a much more reliable option, where you don't have to constantly think about whether there is enough traction or time to overtake.

Because an electric car is not about fashion. It's about convenience and common sense. And here, both Wuling and Tesla have something to offer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I charge Wuling Bingo Plus from a regular wall outlet?
Yes, you can. Although it will take longer than at a specialised AC station, it is quite enough for overnight charging at home.
How realistic is the 510 km range of the Wuling?
This figure is based on the Chinese test cycle. In real life, it's better to aim for 340-380 km in quiet city mode with a large battery.
Is it worth buying a Tesla Model Y if the charging infrastructure is weak?
If you have stable access to charging at home or at work, you won't have any problems. And if you often drive on highways, choose routes with DC stations in advance and use mobile apps to plan your journey.
