The design here is restrained but noticeable. The aerodynamic profile, hidden door handles, neat grille and floating roof give the impression that it is a cross between a city car and a compact coupe. The rear lights have an undulating shape and the BYD logo is illuminated. It looks modern, but not overdone.

Dimensions suitable for Ukrainian roads

The machine has fairly standard dimensions for its class:

• Length - 4630 mm
• Width - 1880 mm
• Height - 1490 mm
• Wheelbase - 2820 mm

The ground clearance is not record-breaking, but it is enough for normal asphalt. The wheels can be 18 or 19 inches, with Alpha branded rims.

Platform, battery, drive: what's inside?

The BYD Seal 06 GT is built on the high-voltage e3.0 Evo platform, which can be found in other models of the brand. Depending on the configuration, the car receives:

• Rear or all-wheel drive

The simplest versions have a single electric motor with 218 or 224 hp, and the most powerful (4WD) version has two motors with a total output of 422 hp. Acceleration to 100 km/h is 4.9 seconds. At the same time, all versions are limited to 200 km/h.

There are four versions of the model on sale, and there is indeed a noticeable difference between them:

What's inside: interior and cabin organisation

The interior of the BYD Seal 06 GT is not just a set of buttons and displays, but an environment where it is pleasant to be every day. There is no excessive pretentiousness here, but every detail looks appropriate and works for comfort. The main emphasis is on ease of use and ergonomics - everything is at hand, the logic of the elements is clear, and there is no need to look for the main functions in the depths of the menu.

That is, you can turn it to face you at a convenient angle, depending on the situation or the wishes of the passenger. The interface is based on the DiLink 5 system, which is a proprietary BYD platform that supports the installation of Android applications. So Spotify, Google Maps, Waze, or even YouTube can be launched directly on the screen without any tambourine dancing.

The driver also has a separate 10.25-inch display in front of him. It shows speed, range, driving modes and basic notifications. Higher trims add a HUD, a projection screen on the windscreen that allows you to keep your eyes on the road without being distracted by the main panel.

Plenty of space in the front and rear

The BYD Seal 06 GT is designed not only for the driver but also for the passengers, and you can feel it as soon as you get inside. The front is spacious even for taller drivers, and the seats have a well-thought-out profile, electric adjustment and, depending on the configuration, heating and ventilation. The driver's seat offers a comfortable seating position for both city driving and long motorway journeys.

The second row is impressive - especially for a hatchback. There is plenty of leg, knee and headroom. Taller passengers do not feel cramped, and the width of the cabin allows even three people to sit comfortably. There is a comfortable armrest with a built-in cup holder in the centre, adjustable air deflectors nearby, and a separate air conditioning unit, which is especially useful in summer or winter. The installed heat pump helps to quickly heat or cool the cabin with minimal energy consumption.

Even if it's a busy or long-distance traffic jam, the second row doesn't make you want to get out as soon as possible. Thanks to the laminated glass and well-tuned noise insulation, conversations in the cabin do not have to be shouted over, and road noise does not "press" on your head.

As for the luggage compartment, everything is on a par. The rear boot has a capacity of up to 1,058 litres when the rear row of seats is folded down. This means that the Seal 06 GT can easily accommodate several suitcases, a pram, shopping bags or equipment for a short trip. The front boot - the so-called "franc" - is not a record-breaking 45 litres, but it is convenient for its class. You can put cables, adapters or a set of accessories there without taking up space in the main luggage compartment.

As a result, the Seal 06 GT remains comfortable not only for the driver but also for passengers. It is a true five-seater electric car that does not require compromises in space.

The model has several tangible advantages that are definitely worth considering. Firstly, the interior is really well thought out: pleasant materials, ergonomics, a modern interface and a large multimedia system with support for Android applications. Secondly, there is a choice between all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive, so everyone can choose the option for themselves. This is complemented by a high-voltage architecture and good dynamic performance, even in the basic configurations. The longest version promises a range of up to 605 km, and the most powerful version can accelerate to hundreds in 4.9 seconds.

But there were some nuances. Some trims do not have a heated steering wheel - a small thing, but an important one for the Ukrainian winter. The suspension has no stiffness adjustment, so those who like to adjust the car "for themselves" may not be entirely satisfied. Also, the ground clearance is not very high, so you will have to drive carefully on imperfect rural roads.
