Over the past few years, the Chinese brand BYD has changed its perception of itself dramatically. If earlier its cars were associated with the budget segment and compromises, now it is a completely different story. And BYD Tang L is one of the most striking examples of this transformation. This is a large, spacious, family electric SUV that can easily compete with models from Hyundai, Volkswagen, or even Tesla. Let's take a closer look at what features the updated Tang L offers in 2025.
We remind you that you can purchase home and commercial charging stations in our online storeand also use the public charging stations ECOFACTORcharging points located throughout Ukraine. For convenient access to charging infrastructure, we recommend using our mobile applicationwhich is available on iOS and Android.

Dimensions and form factor
The Tang L is a full-fledged mid-size SUV that does not look bulky, but has solid dimensions.
- Length: 5040 mm
- Width: 1996 mm
- Height: 1760 mm
- Wheelbase: 2950 mm
Thanks to these proportions, the cabin can comfortably accommodate seven passengers in a 2-3-2 configuration, with plenty of room for luggage in the boot, which has a capacity of up to 1960 litres in the maximum seating position.
Battery and range
One of the main questions about an electric car is how far it will go. And here BYD did not disappoint. The 2025 Tang L is equipped with a 100.5 kWh battery. This is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery produced by Fudi, with efficient direct cooling and the possibility of preheating in winter.
The officially declared CLTC cycle range is 670 km. In real city driving, you can expect to get around 500-550 km, depending on driving style, temperature and load.
Drive, power and dynamics
BYD offers several versions of the Tang L, but the most common is the rear-wheel drive version with a single electric motor. This motor has a power output of 680 hp and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. As a result, the SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 240 km/h.
The version with all-wheel drive (AWD) has two electric motors - one on the front and one on the rear axle. It's even faster, with a time of around 3.9 seconds to 100 km/h, but less common.
Charging and efficiency
The BYD Tang L supports fast direct current (DC) charging, which saves time in everyday use. According to official data, it takes only 17-19 minutes to charge from 10 to 70%. This is made possible by a 1000V high-voltage system and a modern electrical architecture that ensures efficient cooling of the battery during charging.
In addition, the car has several important features that enhance the daily driving experience:
- Energy recovery with several levels of settings, allowing you to either slow down smoothly or hardly use the brake pedal in the city
- V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) - the ability to power external devices such as tools, laptops or household appliances directly from the car battery
- Preheating of the battery in winter, which allows you to charge quickly even in sub-zero temperatures
These are the things that really affect the comfort of operation in real conditions, especially in the Ukrainian climate.

BYD Tang L: comfortable charging with ECOFACTOR
When it comes to charging a modern electric vehicle such as the BYD Tang L, it's important to have not only the vehicle itself with a technology battery, but also a stable, convenient infrastructure to service it. And this is where our role comes in. At ECOFACTOR, we have been developing an ecosystem of charging solutions in Ukraine for more than 10 years, covering everything from production charging stations to a mobile application and platform for operators.
Our company designs and manufactures full-cycle charging stations right in Ukraine. We have both mobile solutions and stationary AC stations up to 44 kW and powerful DC options up to 420 kW. For BYD Tang L owners who want to quickly charge their car at home or at work, we can find the best option. All stations comply with industry standards and support modern charging protocols, including high voltage, which is compatible with the Tang L architecture.
We also offer online shop with everything you need: there you can find cables and adapters, holders, adapters, RFID cards and other accessories that fit both our stationsand to the electric vehicles themselves. This is especially useful when you need something specific to a particular model, such as a type 2 adapter or an adapter for charging at home.
To make the charging process as simple as possible, we have developed a mobile application for iOS and Android, where you can not only find map of charging stationsYou can not only manage the charging process, but also monitor costs, choose tariffs or even schedule charging. In addition, if you are a business or a condominium, we have a platform for operators that allows you to manage the network, create your own charging points and provide services to customers.
And if you already drive a BYD Tang L or are just planning to switch to one, we are ready to make sure that the issue of charging never causes stress again. Just select a station, connect your car, and everything works. If you need advice or selection, leave a request and we will contact you and help.
Chassis and handling
The front suspension is independent double-wishbone, while the rear suspension is independent multi-link. This arrangement provides comfort even on uneven Ukrainian roads and at the same time keeps the car stable on the road.
The steering is electrically assisted, and the brakes are ventilated discs at both the front and rear. In everyday driving, the Tang L is predictable and confident, although it is not a sports car.

Wheels, tyres and ground clearance
Factory tyre options:
- Front: 255/50 R20
- Rear: 275/45 R20 (or 265/45 R21 in higher trims)
With a wheelbase of 2950 mm, it can comfortably absorb bumps, although the ground clearance is not very high. For normal asphalt or paved surfaces, this is more than enough.
Interior, trim and comfort
One of the Tang L's strongest points is its interior. The company did not spare any materials: leather upholstery, soft plastic, neat joints. Even the base model has electric seats, heating, ventilation, massage, and position memory. Available in higher versions:
- front seats with retractable footrest
- adjustment in 4 directions of lumbar support
- second row seats with massage
- third row with independent heating
And also:
- full 4-zone climate control
- 12 speakers in the audio system
- large 15.6″ central screen
- 10.25″ digital instrument panel
- Xiaodi voice assistant
- built-in navigation with AutoNavi maps
- support for 5G, Wi-Fi, OTA updates
Safety and driver assistants
BYD Tang L has been equipped with the DiPilot 300 active safety system, which corresponds to the L2 autonomy level. This means that the car can partially control itself in certain situations, but the driver must always be attentive and ready to take the wheel. This approach is fully justified - both in city traffic and on the highway.
The DiPilot 300 is implemented as part of the:
- Adaptive cruise control that automatically maintains a distance to the car in front and can brake or accelerate in traffic
- Lane keeping and lane departure warning, which is especially useful on long journeys
- Automatic braking when a collision with a car, pedestrian or cyclist is detected
- Frontal collision warning function that works in conjunction with AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking)
- 360° cameras for precise manoeuvring in car parks or tight spaces
- Uphill start assist and downhill control - helps keep the car on a slope without using the handbrake
- Automatic parking that selects a space, controls the steering wheel and, in some cases, the pedals
- Rear traffic alert system when leaving the car park, with cross traffic detection
- Blind-spot monitoring on mirrors that warns you of cars that you cannot see with your side vision
- Recognition of road signs and traffic lights, which increases overall alertness while driving
The system really works well and is not intrusive. In the city, it helps to avoid minor accidents in traffic jams or on narrow streets, and on the highway it reduces fatigue during long journeys. However, as with any car with L2, it is not an autopilot - and control still remains with the driver. But as an everyday assistant, the Tang L does a very good job.
Appearance and equipment
BYD Tang L has a restrained but confident design. The front features a wide, closed grille with integrated LED headlights that form a single visual line. The optics support automatic light switching as well as adaptive adjustment to road conditions.
The side handles are recessed into the door and extend when you approach, and the mirrors are electrically folding and heated. The panoramic roof is equipped with electric blackout, although the sunroof is not available even in the top versions.
The wheels are available in two versions: 20 or 21 inches, alloy, with wide tyres. The body colours are mostly classic: black, grey, white, and navy blue. At the rear, the car has a distinctive continuous LED strip across the trunk, which adds a modern look at night.

Is it worth considering the BYD Tang L?
If you want a spacious, well-equipped electric SUV that doesn't feel like a compromise, the Tang L is definitely worth considering. For the money, it offers an impressive combination of power, range and comfort. What's particularly impressive is that everything from the battery to the platform is developed in-house by BYD, without reliance on third-party suppliers.
Yes, there are questions about the availability of the service or long deliveries to the Ukrainian market, but if these issues do not stop you, this is a really cool alternative to European or American analogues.
Bottom line.
The BYD Tang L really looks convincing for those looking for a modern electric crossover with family-friendly seating, technology and an adequate range. There is nothing overly ostentatious about it, but it has everything you really need in daily use - a comfortable cabin, fast charging, a well-built interior and a set of electronics that does not annoy but really helps.
Yes, it's not a Tesla with space upgrades or a German premium, but the Tang L costs accordingly. And if you compare it on the merits, it often looks more practical and understandable. Especially if you look at it as the first electric car for a family or a universal car for work and leisure. Tang L is not about hype. It's about benefit. And it really delivers.
Frequently asked questions
How far will the BYD Tang L really go on a single charge in Ukraine?
In real mixed mode, it's about 500-550 km. If you drive only in the city or in the warm season, you can get closer to 600. In winter, this figure drops, as with all electric vehicles.
Can I charge Tang L from a regular wall outlet at home?
Yes, but it takes a lot of time. For normal daily use, it is better to have at least a 7 or 11 kW AC station. The ideal is to install a wall charger.
Is it possible to accommodate four of us with children and suitcases in the cabin?
Yes, it is. It's a big car with space in all three rows and almost two cubic metres of boot space with the third row folded down. Family trips are its element.
How helpful is the DiPilot 300 in the city?
It does not replace the driver, but it really helps. Especially in traffic jams or car parks. Pedestrian warning, lane control, 360° camera - all of this works clearly and without fanaticism.
