In the world of electric vehicles, no one is surprised by loud numbers or unusual designs. But when a model appears on the market that combines a pleasant appearance, impressive technical data and a price that is not shocking, you are bound to become interested. Zeekr 001 is one of them. This electric liftback from Geely, although not as well-publicised as Tesla, has nevertheless attracted a lot of attention, including among Ukrainian drivers.
This is not just a concept or an attempt to enter the premium segment. The Zeekr 001 is already on sale in Europe, and several showrooms offer it in Ukraine. The car looks interesting, drives fast, charges smartly, and generally leaves the impression of a well-thought-out car. The following is without unnecessary pathos, just facts and honest observations about the characteristics of Zeekr 001.
We remind you that you can purchase home and commercial charging stations in our online storeand also use the public charging stations ECOFACTORcharging points located throughout Ukraine. For convenient access to charging infrastructure, we recommend using our mobile applicationwhich is available on iOS and Android.
Platform and body: what's under the bonnet and underfoot
The Zeekr 001 is built on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, which Geely developed specifically for electric vehicles. This is the same framework used for new models from Volvo, Smart and other brands in the group.
The body itself is a liftback, that is, a five-door car with a sloping roofline that looks a bit like a cross between a Porsche Taycan and a Lucid Air. In profile, it looks dynamic, but not aggressive. Length - 4955 mm, width - 1999 mm, height - 1560 mm. The wheelbase is 2999 mm. For comparison, this is almost like the E-Class from Mercedes.
Interestingly, Zeekr has retained some elements from Lynk & Co, including the distinctive headlights and retractable door handles. It also has frameless windows, which is rare even among more expensive electric cars.
Interior space and comfort: not just beautiful
The interior of the Zeekr 001 is tastefully designed. It is already available as standard:
- genuine nappa leather
- multi-contour seats with massage function
- 15.4" touchscreen display for controlling most functions
- projection display on the windscreen
- separate screen for climate control for rear passengers
Despite the fact that almost all physical buttons have disappeared, the interface looks clear. To be honest, the complete dependence on sensors, even on the steering wheel, is a little worrying, but this is a general trend in the automotive industry.
Is it spacious? Yes, it is. The boot has a capacity of 539 litres as standard, and when the rear seats are folded, it can be up to 2,144 litres. This is more than enough for long journeys or family shopping.

Electric motors, drive and dynamics
The Zeekr 001 is available in several versions. The most common in Europe is Performance AWD with all-wheel drive and two electric motors with a total output of 544 hp. This allows for 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds. Impressive, especially considering that the car weighs more than 2.4 tonnes.
The top speed is limited to 200 km/h (although some sources say 230 km/h in other versions). Torque is 686 Nm.
The drive is all-wheel drive, but there is also a rear-wheel drive version with a single motor. It has less dynamics but a longer range.
Battery and range
The Zeekr 001 has a 100 kWh battery (94 kWh of usable capacity) manufactured by CATL. It is a lithium-ion design with NCM811, 110s1p configuration. The system voltage is 400 V.
Cruising range in real conditions:
- city, warm weather: up to 690 km
- track, cold weather: ~350 km
- mixed mode in average temperatures: 480-524 km
The actual range is 480 km. These figures vary depending on driving style, temperature and terrain, but even the worst figure (about 410 km in cold weather) is quite acceptable.
Charging: quickly and without headaches
Zeekr 001 supports both AC and DC charging. Here's a quick summary:
- Connector for AC: Type 2, up to 22 kW, 0-100% takes approx. 5 hours to charge
- DC: CCS Combo, up to 200 kW
- Charging time of 10-80%: 30-31 min
- Supports Autocharge (automatic start of charging)
- Plug & Charge is not supported
Plus, the car can preheat the battery before charging if you have specified a charging station in the navigation. This reduces charging time in winter.
Real energy consumption
The average energy consumption of the Zeekr 001 in the mixed cycle is 196 Wh/km. This is equivalent to 2.2 litres/100 km in terms of fuel. In warm weather in the city, consumption drops to 136 Wh/km, which is very economical for such a large car.
Consumption in conditions:
- City (winter): ~200 W-ppl/km
- Highway (summer): ~211 W-mpg/km
- Combined: ~171-229 W-ppl/km

Long trips: how comfortable is it?
When it comes to an electric vehicle for travelling, it is not enough to have a large battery. It is not only important how many kilometres you can drive without stopping, but also how quickly you can recharge during a break. In this respect, the Zeekr 001 is quite confident, although not without compromise.
The SEA platform on which the car is built is based on a 400V architecture. This means that it is inferior to models with 800-volt systems in terms of charging speed. For example, a Porsche Taycan or Hyundai Ioniq 5 can get a longer range in the same 15-20 minutes. But this does not mean that the Zeekr 001 is not suitable for long-distance travel.
According to the EV Database, the Zeekr 001 has a "roadworthiness" rating of 3.5 out of 5. This is based on how far the car can travel with one short charging stop (15 minutes) and how efficiently it charges during this time.
A typical travel scenario:
- The first stage: A fully charged car can drive about 353 km without stopping. This is a realistic figure in mixed conditions, when the speed is stable and energy consumption is not excessive.
- Stopping to charge: The car then stops for a 15-minute charge at a 200 kW DC station. During this time, the battery receives enough energy for another 170 km of driving range.
- The second stage: after charging, you can drive about 171 km, which is quite convenient for most routes between cities.
Together:
- Total mileage per trip with one charge: about 524 km
- Total travel time: approximately 5 hours, of which only 15 minutes are spent charging
This scenario is quite optimistic, but it is realistic for spring, summer or early autumn, when there are neither severe frosts nor heat waves that require intensive use of climate control.

Suspension, ground clearance and road behaviour
The Zeekr 001 has an adaptive air suspension with adjustable ground clearance. The range is from 117 to 200 mm. This is convenient if you alternate city trips with trips out of town. The turning radius is 11.8 metres.
The SEA platform ensures stability and good grip, especially in the all-wheel drive version. The steering mechanism has a short rack with variable tooth pitch for precise steering at speed.
Security and rating
When we talk about a business-class electric car with a power of more than 500 hp, the issue of safety comes to the fore. And here Zeekr 001 has something to show. The car has passed a full cycle of crash tests according to the European Euro NCAP programme and received the highest possible rating - 5 stars. This is important not only for the image, but also for the practical peace of mind of the driver and passengers.
The scores for the main categories are as follows:
- Protection of adult passengers: 89%
- Child protection in the cabin: 88%
- Protection of vulnerable road users (pedestrians, cyclists): 84%
- Driver assistance systems (ADAS): 83%
These indicators put the Zeekr 001 on a par with the most advanced European competitors, such as the Audi e-tron or Mercedes EQE. The high score for electronic assistants is particularly noteworthy. This indicates the presence of such functions as automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, etc.
What active security systems are included in the package:
- automatic braking when an obstacle is detected
- Pedestrian and cyclist detection with warning
- Lane departure warning with steering correction
- adaptive cruise control
- all-round view camera
- driver fatigue monitoring
All these systems are not designed to replace the driver, but to help avoid critical situations - especially in the city or on long routes.
Is Zeekr 001 worth considering in Ukraine?
For those who are looking for a premium electric car with dynamics, a good range and a distinctive look, the Zeekr 001 is definitely worth a look. It can be delivered on request or found in some showrooms.
Among competitors:
- Tesla Model 3 Long Range
- BMW i4 eDrive40
- BYD Han EV
- NIO ET5 Touring
However, the Zeekr 001 stands out for its technical capabilities to price ratio, especially if you take the Performance AWD configuration with a large battery.
Conclusion.
The Zeekr 001 is not just another electric car from China, but a serious competitor in the mid- and high-end electric car segment. It looks stylish, drives fast, has a good range, and doesn't cost a fortune like some of its European counterparts. Yes, it does not charge as fast as models based on 800-volt architectures, but this is not critical - especially given the existing charging infrastructure in Ukraine, which we, ECOFACTOR, are actively developing.
This car is not for everyone, but definitely for those who appreciate design, comfort, technology and want something fresh. And most importantly, you no longer have to compromise between price and functionality. The Zeekr 001 is a very real option for Ukrainian roads.
