Electric cars have long ceased to be a novelty on Ukrainian roads. Every day we see Tesla, BYD, Hyundai Ioniq, and now a new player is actively entering the market, which has managed to gather a lot of noise in a very short time. We are talking about the Zeekr X, a compact premium electric crossover created by Geely's divisions. The car is fresh, but it is by no means a "raw material". On the contrary, it comes from a technologically mature platform, with powerful motors, fast charging, modern multimedia, and a design that does not get lost among competitors.

Ukrainian companies are already officially delivering Zeekr X to order, so buyers have a perfectly understandable question: is the model really worthy of attention, or is it just another Chinese "no-name" that looks good in photos but falls short in reality? In this review, we're going to analyse everything honestly and in order: from the platform and dynamics to the equipment, from the comfort in the back row to the nuances of Ukrainian use.

We remind you that you can purchase home and commercial charging stations in our online storeand also use the public charging stations ECOFACTORcharging points located throughout Ukraine. For convenient access to charging infrastructure, we recommend using our mobile applicationwhich is available on iOS and Android.

Zeekr X platform and the main idea

Zeekr X is built on the SEA architecture, which Geely has been developing for many years. It is the platform that underpins the Smart #1, which means that the solutions are already proven, maintainable and adapted to real-world loads. The X was not created from scratch, but rather rests on a solid foundation that allows you to get the most out of your powertrain.

The main idea behind the car is simple: to make a compact, technologically advanced and comfortable city car with a range sufficient for the region and even intercity travel, but in a size that is not scary to look for a parking space in Kyiv or Lviv. That's why Zeekr deliberately went into the segment of relatively compact crossovers, rather than trying to create another giant.

Dimensions and fit: compact, but with a premium taste

The first surprise is that the car doesn't look small at all. Although it's technically a subcompact crossover, the proportions are chosen so that the X seems larger than it actually is.

The main dimensions of Zeekr X:

  • length 4432 mm
  • width 1836 mm
  • height 1566 mm
  • wheelbase 2750 mm

The wheelbase here is truly impressive. For a car of this class, 2750 mm is a level that directly affects the comfortable space inside. That's why the car can be either a five-seater or a four-seater with luxurious separate seats in the rear. The front row feels very free, and this is not an exaggeration: due to the absence of a central tunnel, it seems as if the space has been stretched forward.

The ground clearance is small, but this is not critical for Ukrainian conditions. The car is not an off-roader, but it confidently copes with city pits, tram tracks and typical road surface "surprises".

Power and dynamics: what Zeekr X can really do

One of the Zeekr X's strongest points is its powerplant. Regardless of the configuration, the electric crossover demonstrates very decent dynamics, and the variability allows you to choose something specifically for your conditions and driving style.

The model is available in two versions: rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. In the basic configuration, the Zeekr X is equipped with a single 200 kW (272 hp) electric motor located on the rear axle. This variant accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, which is a very serious indicator for a city electric car.

In practice, this means that even in the base version, the Zeekr X behaves briskly, does not require "push acceleration", and confidently moves forward at traffic lights. In the all-wheel drive version, the dynamics are already approaching the level of sports electric cars: the pedal responds instantly, the traction is distributed clearly, and the car does not lose control even when accelerating actively.

For the city and suburbs, the RWD version is quite enough. It is fast, quiet and smooth. AWD is mostly chosen by those who need additional stability in winter or who just want to experience electric drive to the fullest.

Despite its impressive figures, the Zeekr X doesn't aim to be a hot hatchback. It's not a track car - it's a balanced crossover that combines speed with comfort and predictability. And that's perhaps even better.

Exterior: modern, slightly aggressive and without unnecessary details

The brand's corporate identity can be clearly seen in Zeekr X. LED DRLs with a distinctive "squint", clean lines, sloping pillars, balanced proportions. Thanks to its wide body and low stance, the X looks confident but not boastful. It doesn't try to be "cooler" with flashy details, as some Chinese brands do.

An interesting feature is the doors without the usual handles. Instead, there are touch buttons on the posts. At first it seems strange, but in real life it works conveniently, especially when your hands are busy with packages or a backpack.

Interior and comfort: when minimalism looks alive

Inside, the X makes a very pleasant impression. This is the case when even the basic version does not appear to be "basic". The materials are neat, the workmanship is high quality, nothing squeaks, and the space is well thought out.

The main features of the interior:

  • central screen that moves left and right
  • AR-HUD (projection on the windscreen)
  • complete removal of the central tunnel
  • frameless door
  • YAMAHA acoustics
  • very small dashboard, but it is compensated by the HUD

You can feel the minimalism, but it's not cold minimalism. There are no unnecessary lines, and the multimedia interface itself does not look overloaded.

A separate story - 4 places with Zero Gravity

If you choose the 4-seat YOU configuration, the rear row turns into two separate, wide and very comfortable seats. They have:

  • electrical regulation
  • ventilation
  • heating
  • zero gravity mode
  • massage

This is the business class level, which is found in much more expensive models. In Ukraine, this configuration will definitely find its buyer among those who spend a lot of time on the road but do not want to buy a large and bulky electric car.

Multimedia and features: a stationary screen, games and modern gizmos

The movable centre display is what makes the most of the "wow" factor for passengers. With a single movement, the screen moves to the front passenger, who can watch videos, control the system or play games. This is definitely a plus for families with children. Zeekr X has:

  • Bluetooth 5.0 with separate audio channel
  • fast 50W wireless charging
  • Type-C for 60 W
  • 5G modem
  • OTA updates

All of this works without any unnecessary complications. Plug it in, switch it on, and go.

Safety and auxiliary systems: an electric crossover that doesn't skimp on sensors

Zeekr X makes it clear from the start: they didn't skimp on safety. And this is not a phrase for the sake of appearances, but a fact. All configurations, regardless of price, have a full set of both passive and active security systems. That is, no "buy separately" - everything is already sewn into the base, as it should be in a modern premium electric car.

The car is equipped with airbags all round, including curtain airbags for the rear passengers. Electronics work in conjunction with the proven ABS, EBD and ESP systems, and add intelligent functions such as tyre pressure monitoring, rollover prevention and active stability control on slippery roads.

All-round cameras, which provide a clear view of the surroundings, and a frontal or side collision warning system are useful in everyday use. Active cruise control keeps the distance on its own, and lane keeping will prevent the car from "floating" on the road, even if you are momentarily distracted. There is also blind spot monitoring, which adds peace of mind when changing lanes on a busy motorway.

The remote parking function deserves special attention. If you have to squeeze into a tight yard every day or manoeuvre between two parked buses at the entrance, Zeekr X can do it for you. You just stand by and watch your electric car pull into the spot of your choice.

This approach to safety looks mature. Not because there are any "unique innovations" in X, but because it contains everything that really works in everyday city driving. And it feels not like an expensive bonus, but like the norm.

How Zeekr X feels on the road

In short, the X rides confidently and quietly. There's no air suspension, but the engineers have done a good job tuning the chassis. The car swallows small bumps well, and large ones are soft, although sometimes a slight elasticity is felt. At high speeds, the car doesn't "float", the steering wheel becomes heavier, and this adds confidence.

The AWD version is more sporty, but in no way is the X trying to be aggressive. It's a car designed for real life, not demonstration races.

Who is Zeekr X suitable for in Ukraine

Zeekr X is not an electric car that tries to be "all things to all people". It's not mass-produced, it's not ultra-cheap, it's not too pretentious. But if you belong to one of these categories of drivers, there's a good chance that X could be your next car.

1. The urban user who wants something fresh

It's a great option for the urban user who is looking for something fresh, modern and doesn't want to deal with fuel, turbocharging, spark plugs and gearboxes. Zeekr X is economical to run on a daily basis, easy to charge at home or at public charging points, and its quiet ride and soft suspension are just right for our Kyiv potholes and traffic jams. The car is convenient for parking, does not take up half the street, but there is more space inside than it seems from the outside. And there is a lot of technology: from HUD to phone control. It's an electric car for those who don't want to bother with the hassle of getting in and out.

2. Those who want dynamics, but without excessive ostentation

It's about drivers who like fast pedal response, good traction and a "gentle nudge in the back" feeling, but who don't want to explain at traffic lights every day why they have a red sports car with airbrushing. The Zeekr X looks restrained, almost Scandinavian, but if necessary, it drives like most competitors never dreamed of.

3. A user who appreciates the comfort of the rear row

And here is the most interesting thing - Zeekr X in a four-seater configuration. This is the case when the rear row is not a punishment, but a privilege. Individual Zero Gravity seats with ventilation, massage, adjustment and a zero-gravity button make the trip not just comfortable, but actually enjoyable. This option is chosen by those who transport children, parents, or simply appreciate the silence, comfort and individuality of each place. Even if you usually drive alone, these rear seats can become your favourite place in the city - especially in traffic, when you can stop, relax and wait in comfort.

ECOFACTOR and Zeekr X: the infrastructure without which an electric car will not reach its potential

At ECOFACTOR, we are well aware of how the electric car market in Ukraine is changing. New models appear every year, and Zeekr X is no exception. This is a modern, technologically advanced electric crossover, but any battery-powered car depends on how convenient it is for the owner to charge it in everyday life. That is why infrastructure plays no less important role than car performance.

We have been working in this field for over a decade and have created a full range of solutions for charging electric vehicles. All of our charging stations we design and manufacture in Ukraine, adhering to industry standards and safety requirements. The line includes mobile modelsAC stations up to 44 kW and DC stations up to 420 kW. This makes it possible to choose a charger for both home or business and large commercial facilities. For the Zeekr X, which supports fast DC charging, this means real flexibility when travelling around Ukraine.

In addition to the stations themselves, we are developing an ecosystem that makes it easier to use an electric car. In our app for iOS and Android you can find map of charging stationsThe app allows you to monitor sessions, view statistics, top up your balance and manage your account. More than two hundred thousand drivers are already using the app.

A separate part of our work is online shopwhere you can buy cables and adaptersas well as other charging accessories. The catalogue offers products for different standards and capacities, including kits for Type 2 and GB/T. For Zeekr X, which uses a Type 2 connector and supports different charging modes, this is useful: you can always buy the right cable, adapter or holder.

We also support businesses that want to install charging stations for their customers or employees. This includes restaurants, shopping centres, hotels, residential complexes, and coworking spaces. Zeekr X is a fairly compact but powerful electric crossover, and it is important for it to be able to recharge in places where the owner actually spends time. A charging station near the office or in a shopping mall can greatly simplify the daily use of the car.

For us, the development of electric mobility is not a one-off event, but a long-term process. We create solutions to make electric vehicles like Zeekr X easier to integrate into everyday life. And it is this ecosystem that makes the transition to electric transport more comfortable for drivers across Ukraine.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Zeekr X a compact or mid-size crossover?

Although it looks small from the outside, especially because of the short front and rear overhangs, there is actually more space in the cabin than you might expect. It feels closer to the mid-size class. This is especially noticeable in the second row, where even taller passengers have enough knee and headroom.

To what extent is the cabin premium?

The interior really does not look like a "Chinese electric car for the sake of price". The quality of the materials, the firmware, the way the buttons are designed, and even the smell - all of this is more reminiscent of a Volvo or even something closer to a Lexus. The fabrics are soft, the plastic doesn't creak, and the central display doesn't look alien.

How convenient is it to move around the city on a daily basis?

Zeekr X is a city electric crossover. Manoeuvrable, with a good 360-degree camera and a parking assistance system, it easily fits into dense traffic or narrow courtyards. It also has no "nervousness" when starting or steering - everything is smooth, without jerking.
