Hyundai Ioniq 7 release date

According to Hyundai’s official information and numerous sources in the automotive industry, the Hyundai Ioniq 7 was unveiled on 27 June 2024 at the Busan International Mobility Show. However, as of 16 September 2025, the mass production of the model has not yet started, and it is not available from official dealers in Ukraine or in most European markets.

Despite this, interest in the Ioniq 7 continues unabated. This electric SUV with three rows of seats promises to set a new benchmark in the segment, especially thanks to aspects such as:

• Appearance
• Power reserve
• Dynamics and power

And it seems that this is not all he will surprise us with.

What makes Hyundai Ioniq 7 unique

Forget everything you know about electric crossovers. The Hyundai Ioniq 7 is not just another big battery-powered SUV. It’s a major redefinition of what an electric car should be in its class. And although the model hasn’t hit the roads yet, it’s already clear that it’s preparing to become a flagship in the premium segment.

The car is built on the latest E-GMP platform and brings with it a number of solutions that were previously only seen in concepts. These include a living room-style interior, proprietary pixel lighting and a focus on passenger comfort. But let’s see what’s most interesting here.

An exterior that will not get lost in the flow

Ioniq 7 has a silhouette that is not typical for an SUV. The front end with its pixelated headlights looks futuristic, while the body lines are smoothed out without sharp transitions. The rear end, with its full-length panel and LED lighting, resembles a real-world interpretation of space design. Hyundai has obviously gone beyond the usual design framework, and this is evident from the first rendering.

Thoughtful security

While the final specifications for production have not yet been released, the Ioniq 7 is expected to feature a full suite of SmartSense systems – just like the brand’s younger models. These include:

• Blind Spot Collision Avoidance (BCA)
• Lane-keeping assist (LKA)
• Lane keeping assist (LFA)

A salon that would be the envy of the business class

Hyundai has repeatedly hinted that the interior of the Ioniq 7 is more like a lounge area than a typical front panel with seats. The E-GMP platform makes it possible to create a flat floor without a transmission tunnel, which adds space.

The Seven concept also included an open “coach door” without a central pillar – it’s hard to say how much this will be retained in the production model, but the direction is clear: comfort, space and a sense of “home” inside.

The E-GMP platform is already in use in the Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Genesis GV60 and other models, and has proven to be effective. It enables fast 800V charging, a long range and a wide range of battery and motor configurations.

There are reports that Hyundai plans to build up to 23 electric vehicles on this platform by the end of 2025 – and the Ioniq 7 is expected to be one of the most important in this line-up.

The unification of the platform allows us to reduce production costs and speed up the launch of new models, which is definitely good news for customers.

Productivity – поки без конкретики, але є очікування

Official power figures for the Ioniq 7 have not been released. But given that it uses E-GMP, we can expect several versions – with one motor on the rear axle or two motors (all-wheel drive).

For comparison: The Ioniq 5 is available with outputs ranging from 170 to 325 hp. There is also a “charged” version of the Ioniq 5 N. It is therefore not surprising that the Ioniq 7 will have similar flexibility: for those looking for a calm, economical option – and for those who want dynamics even in a large electric SUV.

In the Seven concept, Hyundai showed a rear door that opens against the movement – the so-called “suicide door”. This approach makes sense: with the front and rear doors open, a large entrance is created, which is convenient for rear-row passengers. Especially for the elderly or those with limited mobility.

In the production version, the doors may be conventional, but the approach to easy access to the rear rows is likely to be retained by Hyundai.

According to preliminary data, with a battery of about 100 kWh, the Ioniq 7 will have a range of more than 480 km. This allows it to compete with the Kia EV9 and other large electric cars. Thanks to the 800-volt architecture, it will be possible to charge from 10 % to 80 % in less than 25 minutes – if the station allows it.

Air purification system and focus on hygiene

The post-pandemic world has changed its attitude to air quality in cars. And Hyundai seems to understand this well. In the Ioniq 7 concept, special attention is paid to the cleanliness of the cabin – both at the level of materials and in the approach to ventilation.

The materials used in the upholstery must be antibacterial, resistant to dirt and easy to clean. This is not only for appearance, but also for the overall comfort and health of passengers.

Hyundai also claims an advanced air purification system with multiple filtration stages. Here are the components that could be included in the final solution:

• Coarse pre-cleaning filter: traps large particles of dust, leaves and other foreign objects before they enter the ventilation system
• Fine filter: fights bacteria, mould spores, allergens and fine particles
• Activated carbon: eliminates unpleasant odours, including those from exhaust, food, smoke or wet items
• HEPA filter: cleans the air of 99.97 % of fine dust, allergens and microscopic contaminants

This system aims to create an environment that is not just “fresh” but truly healthy. Even if the HEPA filter is not available in every configuration, the focus on air quality itself indicates a serious approach to passenger comfort.

For a large family SUV, this is an important argument – especially for those who spend a lot of time in the car or carry children.
