Tychy becomes the first city with an ECOFACTOR network. 11 charging stations now available

ECOFACTOR has launched 11 AC charging stations in Tychy, making it the first city in Poland where the company is implementing its model of a distributed urban charging network. The stations are located across different parts of the city, close to places drivers visit as part of their everyday routines. Charging costs PLN 1.99/kWh.

The launch in Tychy marks another step in ECOFACTOR’s entry into the Polish market as a public charge point operator. Just a few days ago, the company activated the first charging point in its own Polish network. Drivers can now use 11 ECOFACTOR stations across one city.

Rather than concentrating charging infrastructure in a single location, ECOFACTOR has distributed the stations across Tychy — near recreational areas, sports facilities, hospitals, the city hall, the city centre and other places connected with residents’ everyday activities.

This is the model ECOFACTOR intends to develop in other Polish cities as well: more charging points within individual urban areas, bringing infrastructure closer to drivers’ everyday routes.

The charging price at ECOFACTOR stations in Tychy is PLN 1.99/kWh.

Before starting a session, drivers can use the ECOFACTOR app to check the station location, its current status and key charging information.

How to start charging

To use an ECOFACTOR station, simply download the ECOFACTOR app from Google Play or the App Store, create an account and find the selected charging point on the map.

Then select the station in the app, connect your vehicle, and start the charging session.

The app also allows drivers to monitor an ongoing session and review their charging history.

Tychy is the first. More cities are already in the pipeline

Tychy is the first Polish city where ECOFACTOR has launched a larger number of its own charging stations within one urban area. The company plans to develop more than 300 charging points across Poland, with further locations to be launched in additional cities.

AC infrastructure plays an important role in the first phase of the network rollout, particularly in locations where vehicles naturally remain parked for several hours. As the network develops, fast DC charging will also be added where the usage profile, technical conditions and available grid capacity make it appropriate.

ECOFACTOR also continues to use existing, fully operational infrastructure wherever it remains fit for purpose. We do not replace functioning equipment simply because the operator has changed — extending its useful life helps avoid unnecessary replacement and waste. Upgrades, including the introduction of DC chargers, will be carried out where justified by the needs of the location, technical conditions and available grid capacity.

What comes next?

Following Tychy, ECOFACTOR plans to continue expanding its network into other Polish cities, including Ruda Śląska, Bytom, Częstochowa and Tarnów, followed by further locations across the country, including Lublin, Łódź and Szczecin.

The approach remains the same: rather than placing isolated charging points on the map, ECOFACTOR aims to build dense urban charging infrastructure aligned with drivers’ everyday routes and the specific needs of each location.
